Dr. Mathias is fond of saying that public education is the bedrock of democracy.

Dr. Mathias is the only candidate in this race with governance experience and is committed to remaining in the fight for our Texas public schools, regardless of the results of the November 5 general election. As you compare candidates, we invite you to keep in mind the following facts:

Dr. Mathias possesses 8 years of experience in public service.
Dr. Mathias has earned over 520 hours of school board continuing education credits.
Dr. Mathias has overseen $12.4 billion of taxpayer money.
Dr. Mathias helped pass two bonds totaling $1.54 billion.
For his two elections for the Austin ISD Board of Trustees (in 2012 & 2016), Dr. Mathias was supported by Education Austin, the district's employee labor union, and was endorsed by nearly all Democratic clubs in Austin.
Dr. Mathias is committed to putting Manor kids first, improving student performance data & getting the Manor ISD Board out of oversight by the Texas Education Agency!

The “Machine” and trustees supporting our opponent are slinging a lot of mud. A lot. And while we won’t stoop to their level, we do believe it necessary to highlight Dr. Mathias' popularity and community connections. Here are some data points regarding Dr. Mathias, a very public figure with a track record of proven success, and his opponent.

Dr. Mathias has a public Facebook profile, with over 4,700 friends. Our opponent possesses a private Facebook profile, such that his number of connections there is unclear. He also has surrogates, like Dakota Rucker (purportedly former Manor ISD Trustee Marlin Thomas), who "anonymously" lift him up and tear others down.
In the two weeks since Dr. Mathias' reestablishment of his campaign's Facebook page, he has gained over 350 followers. Our opponent opened a campaign page nearly two months ago and only has 86 followers.
Dr. Mathias regularly shares news & posts with his 1,170 followers on Instagram. Our opponent has shared 0 posts with his 110 followers on Instagram.
Dr. Mathias possesses more than 3,250 professional contacts on LinkedIn. Our opponent possesses 329 contacts on LinkedIn.
Dr. Mathias has shared over 6,500 posts with over 2,150 followers on X (formerly Twitter). Our opponent has no known presence on X.
